What is Continuous Improvement?

Continuous improvement is designed to empower employees to solve problems that niggles them and gradually improve their work processes’ efficiency. For example, it can standardize work processes to prevent employees from duplicating efforts and ensure organizations/agencies achieve the most effective outcome.

A Continuous Improvement Leader

A continuous improvement leader is one who can engage their staff at all stages of the continuous improvement process, from identifying opportunities to testing and evaluating implemented improvements. “Leaders should be the example of working alongside their team to build a team of leaders who continuously improve their processes and talk about if often. Once people see the improvement is worth the time of leadership, they’ll know that it’s worth their own time as well.” ~Kai Nexus

Continuous Improvement Culture (CIC)

A continuous improvement culture is one that challenges employees and managers to go beyond their comfort zone. By applying continuous improvement, organizations can challenge their employees to improve their skills and knowledge, motivating employees by letting them know that their ideas are valued.

Here are some key areas to Inspire Employees to Develop A CIC in Your Organization:

Workforce – Enhance a CIC and engage a workforce that focuses on process improvement, projects, and the services your organization/agency provides. Continuous improvement is about problem-solving, and removing waste from processes, becoming more efficient in delivering value to internal and external customers.

Knowledge Exchange – Be fair and transparent when developing a CIC, organization/agency-wide—for example, management can promote a CIC throughout the organization using the intranet, promotional flyers, and requiring leaders to often speak directly to their staff.

Modernization – Use more cloud-based services that ensure optimal performance—organizations can provide remote access capabilities for employees, for example.

Remove Barriers to Improvements – Empowering employees to make continuous daily improvements as a part of their work every day.  Specifically, asking for ideas that make people’s jobs better, easier, or safer is one way to get an influx of ideas.

Welcome Improvements of All Types – Small changes can add to significant results, so celebrate incremental improvements.

Cost Savings – Leverage shared services across the organization/agency and vendor partnerships to maximize the supplies an organization procures and the services an organization provides.

Governance – Be consistent and transparent in the work organizations/agencies provide and ensure investments support public service objectives.

You made some decent points there. I checked on the net for

Very good blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?

I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that
I’m totally confused .. Any suggestions? Many
    thanks!

I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both
equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you have hit
the nail on the head. The issue is something which not enough
people are speaking intelligently about. I’m
very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.

A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment.

I believe that you ought to write more on this subject matter, it might not be
a taboo subject but typically people don’t talk about these subjects.

Thanks Jeffery. It is a personal preference. Starting on a free platform is a good choice, especially if you are not sure about how committed you are. There’s a lot of work required to keep it going and updated.
All the best starting your website. What will your theme be?
      Cheers!

Hey there! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a
quick shout out and tell you I truly enjoy reading your posts.
Can you suggest any other blogs/websites/forums that
cover the same subjects? Thanks a lot!

    • Expatise says:

      Thanks for stopping by Charlene.
My blogs/topics are a reflection of my experiences or topics I want to learn more about. I am not really sure about other blogs that cover this topic. However, LinkedIn Training has an extended list of trainings they offer.

      All the best.

After I originally left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and now every time a comment is added
I get 4 emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is
a means you are able to remove me from that service? Thanks!

    • Expatise says:

I am not sure what I can do on my end. I will look into it.
I recommend you uncheck the box. Perhaps this stop the emails.
Also, I receive a lot of comments, mostly spam and I delete them.

Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to grasp a lot approximately this,
such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I
believe that you simply could do with a few % to force the message house
a little bit, however instead of that, this is great blog.
A great read. I’ll definitely be back.
